Communities

Even though our region stretches close to 20 miles along Interstate 95 in central North Carolina, there are two main communities we are focused on promoting – Four Oaks and Dunn. While there are certainly some differences between the two towns, there are also many similarities. The most notable being an unwavering commitment to supporting business growth and expansion.

The City of Dunn

The City of Dunn (pop.~10,000) is located on the east side of fast-growing Harnett County. Dunn was incorporated in 1887 and has been recognized by the National Civic League as an All-America Community on two separate occasions – most recently in 2013. For those unfamiliar with this award, it is an incredibly competitive process and a true honor to be among the few annual recipients.

The City of Dunn is proud to be home to major manufacturing (Godwin Manufacturing) and distribution (Food Lion) operations and is working to attract new industries to one of its many available industrial sites. Learn more about available properties.

The Town of Four Oaks

The Town of Four Oaks sits at exit 87 on Interstate 95, just six miles north of its intersection with Interstate 40. The Town was chartered in 1889 and got its name from an unusual oak tree – one with four trunks growing out of one base!

Four Oaks is located in southern Johnston County, which was one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing counties over the past decade.

While the population of Four Oaks may be small (approx. 2,000), its business presence is mighty thanks to a 700K+ square foot BD facility located in the Four Oaks Business Park. The Four Oaks Business Park is one of Eastern NC’s finest industrial parks and has more than 170 acres available for development.

The Four Oaks Commercial District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
