Business Advantages

When working to determine if a location is good place for business, it’s important to start at the top and work your way down. We’re going to help you do exactly that.

State Level Considerations

You can’t get much more positive than being in the State of North Carolina. Consider these recent facts and rankings:

Regional Considerations

As a community within the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina, we’re part of one of the fastest growing and most dynamic regions in the world. Yes, it sounds hyperbolic, but it’s actually true. Here are a few key facts:

Local Considerations

Statewide and regional statistics are incredibly important, but everyone knows the rubber meets the road at the local level. Consider these facts and you’ll see that our communities take economic development very seriously.

  • Our communities understand that keeping property tax rates low encourages investment. That’s why the City of Dunn maintains the lowest property tax rate in all of Harnett County, and the Town of Four Oaks maintains the lowest property tax rate in all of Johnston County.

  • In partnership with both Johnston and Harnett counties, the State of North Carolina is investing millions of dollars to design and construct two new workforce development centers in the Crossroads of America region. The facility in Four Oaks will be focused on advanced manufacturing training, and the facility in Dunn will be focused on workforce preparedness in the realm of advanced technology.

  • In the state of North Carolina, local governments are often directly involved in the permitting and review of building construction, as well as in the provision of water and wastewater services.

While it is difficult to quantify the ease or difficulty of permitting, anyone who has managed the process before knows the immense value a good working relationship. Both the town of Four Oaks and the City of Dunn are committed to supporting business growth from the top down, which will be evident in the permitting and review process.

The City of Dunn and Town of Four Oaks are both currently investing heavily in new infrastructure to support economic development, with the majority of the $40 million total investment being earmarked toward water and wastewater service and expansion.
